Cirque Du Soleil Amaluna is Coming to Edmonton

Lori Around Edmonton

Every now and then you need some time to get away with your partner, take time from the kids and renew and relax. Dinner, movie, shopping; it’s easy to get in a rut when it comes to date night. When Cirque Du Soleil gave me the chance to mix it up for date night, I thought it was a great idea and wanted to share.

Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon.Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.

Cirque Du Soleil opens May 29th under the big top at Northlands. You can find tickets for the show or learn more about Cirque Du Soleil Amaluna by visiting the website. While you are there, you can check out this video preview of Amaluna.

Tip: Did you know that you can get a four pack of family tickets (two kids, two adults) for only $178? Since it’s not too often that Cirque Du Soleil is in town, I think it’s worth the splurge. Date night is fun - but I can imagine that a child would be completely enthralled with the show.

Cirque Du Soleil thinks everyone deserves a date night wanted to give one lucky Frugal Edmonton Mama reader the chance to check out the show for themselves. You could be heading out to the big top for an evening performance.
