We had the chance to stop by this weekend to the newly opened Saks off 5th - perfect timing, as Violet needed a couple new pairs of jeans. I found two pairs, Hudson Jeans, for $39.99, for her. Though a little more than we regularly spend, I’m always willing to splurge a little on designer denim for the kids because it usually lasts through two kids, and let’s face it, I’ve got a thing for dressing the kids well (plus, there’s the resale value of designer denim, so when you break it down, it’s only about $10/kid for pair of jeans).
Some of the other kids clothes were cute, but still a bit on the pricier side, unless you’re buying those brands already (and hey, those brands like Appaman, last for freakin’ ever). Case in point? This cute Appaman sweater is $29.99, less expensive than the boutiques or online where we’ve purchased the brand in the past.
In addition to the designer denim for kids, I noticed the denim selection for women, and was impressed - and a little bit yearning to shop and try some on, after hanging out in maternity jeans for the past few months. I can’t wait to head back to the store on a shopping date night with Jamie, and have a kid-free shop.
Next up, the shoe section - it was very organized, by size, and had tons to look through. Again, I can’t wait to head back there in a couple of months and shop the selection, it was awesome. Lots of room to try things on, and prices that were about half of the retail suggested price, I can anticipate that there are going to be some great sales here - and that the shoes are going to be one of the first things I hit up.
With a fantastic selection of mens suiting, and mens jeans, Jamie was enamoured - but keep in mind the sizes can be limited if you’re searching for larger sizes. It’s one of those stores where you’re going to have to go in there with a little luck on your side, but if it’s on your side, you’re going to get very lucky.
Find Saks off 5th at1620 99 St NW - it’s worth the trip to check it out, if you’ve got a thing for brands, and are searching for a bargain.
